Member of the Month: Annette Popiel-Hammerle

We’re excited to shine the spotlight on Annette Popiel-Hammerle as our Member of the Month! With 25 years in the industry and a long-standing member of CREW Detroit, Annette’s dedication and expertise are truly commendable.

What is your favorite part of CREW? Why did you join?
My favorite part of CREW is the support of each member professionally and personally. You share common ground with members and we create purpose behind lifting each other up. CREW Detroit was an organization I looked to as "the premier" organization to be a part of. So grateful for my membership and the opportunities that have presented themselves to me thru my peers in CREW Detroit.

What do you like to do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies?
My spare time is spent golfing, gardening, walking with my dogs and being a Nana! I enjoy working on house projects with my husband.

Do you have a favorite spot or restaurant in the Metro Detroit Area?
I absolutely love the Avenue in Wayne. A small little foodie place that serves deliciousness and fantastic service. A family friendly and happy-hourish type place.

Are you involved with any other organizations?
Yes. Currently serving until August 30th as SMPS Southeast Michigan President. I will serve the next year as Past President of this AEC - Marketing and Business Development organization. I am an active member in Detroit Economic Club and the Detroit Regional Chamber.

What is one piece of advice you have carried with you throughout your career?
If you don’t ask, you will never know.
